Every site we build rests on the same set of principles: fast by default, secure by design, and yours to keep — on whatever platform fits the project.
The tools change. The principle doesn't: everything we set up lives in your accounts, under your control, with no dependency on us to keep it running.
These are the moving parts behind every Pale Blue site. The specific tools we use within each category are chosen to fit the project — but the principles behind each one never change.
We deploy to industry-standard CDN infrastructure — typically Netlify or Cloudflare Pages, depending on the project. Files serve from the edge nearest your visitor: no backend, no server to maintain, no managed hosting fee eating into your margins.
Your domain is registered in your name, in your account — not ours. We handle the DNS setup and point everything correctly, then hand you the keys. The registrar is chosen for clean controls and honest pricing; you're never locked to our preferred vendor.
Contact forms that deliver without a backend or a database. Submissions go straight to your inbox — no spam sink to monitor, no missed leads. The specific tool depends on the project; what doesn't change is that it works reliably from day one.
Every site launches with analytics and search visibility configured — not bolted on later. You'll know where traffic comes from, what visitors do, and how Google sees your site from the moment it goes live. All in your own accounts.
Typography is the first signal of craft — and it's chosen per project, not defaulted. Fonts are sourced and loaded in a way that doesn't slow the page down. Contrast and legibility are tested against accessibility standards before anything ships.
When your site needs to accept payments, bookings, scheduling, live chat, or other third-party functionality, we scope and integrate what fits — not what's easiest for us. Everything lives in your accounts; funds and data go directly to you. If a specific tool you want isn't something we've worked with, we'll tell you upfront.
Most websites run on WordPress or a similar CMS — a database, a server, a plugin stack, and a long list of things that need updating, patching, and protecting. For most of what we build, there's a better way.
Our default is static HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — code that runs directly in the browser with nothing in between. Fewer things to break, fewer attack surfaces, and pages that load fast whether a site gets ten visitors or ten thousand.
When a project genuinely needs a CMS, a database, or a platform-specific integration, we scope it honestly and build accordingly. But static is the right foundation for the vast majority of local business and government contractor sites — and that's where we start.
Every service we set up — hosting, domain, analytics, forms, payments — gets registered to you. We configure it and hand you the keys. There's no dependency on us to keep things running.
